Hi,

I'm working on a separator similar to the one that Phil posted here:  http://www.jpthien.com/smf/index.php?topic=27.msg149#msg149  I was thinking that instead of using the bag, I would install a "T" vertical where the bag attaches and put some type of filter on top and a collection container on the bottom.  My question is what type of filter to use...  my first thought was a wynn filter, but they are to big.  So maybe a rigid hepa like this?

So far the separator is working great and all the fines are going into the bag...  It is the cleaning of the bag that I'm trying to avoid with this filter idea.

Thanks,
Scott

You would need a LOT more surface area...

Actually, the filter connection is one of the reasons I flat out ignored those smaller DCs... It'll most likely cost you way more than just using a HF 2HP DC and a Wynn filter to go with the 1HP and rig something up to connect a filter, in space or money. Just doesn't seem like a bargain when the #97869 is still available with coupons for $139.00

Hello, I am new to the site. I keep seeing references made to the HF DC that has coupons. Where could I find the coupons?

Negative_Zero

There is one in the May 2010 issue of Wood Magazine that expires in July 2010.  I have not seen these coupons online, but if somone has, please post.

I purchased the May issue of Wood today. I also purchased the 2hp DC for 139.00. I noticed that the coupon was quite clear in saying that the store will not accept anything reprinted, scanned, photocopied, etc. They required me to bring in the mag and they scanned the code from the mag at the checkout line. They did not require me to cut the coupon from the mag.

I think it all depends on the location. I don't see how they expect to use the coupons if they publish in online magazines, and via email... I print mine out and they scan them no problems...
