I am getting ready to convert to a Wynn Enviormental filter and a Thien Internal Baffle on my Delta 50-850 DC. From what I have read, the opening to the filter area is too large (11.5"). Question - can I just make a hardboard donut that reduces the opening to 8" or do I need to add a pipe to go down into the area between the inlet and the baffle (hope I am explaining this correctly) ?
The advantage of having the pipe is that it further reduces fines that would otherwise make it to the filter. If it isn't too much trouble, I'd add the pipe.
How do you add the pipe? Attached to the 8" doughnut? and where do you attach the doughnut? anywhere in the cone or at the very bottom.
This is getting complicated...
Try inserting the pipe in the hole of the filter or place a board between the filter and the ring the filter is setting on with the pipe going through the board.
