Title: New project
Post by: vinceg on October 29, 2011, 04:35:43 AM
Hello Phil, I'm new the forum and I would also solve the problem of the dust in my shop.
I would like to build a small dust deputy  for the miter saw and the router table using my 1400W vacuum Valex.(//)
As for the plane and saw the band would like to use or modify my Superdust chip collector with 750W motor.
Do you think the engine's power is enough?
Also, you show me some example of a project?
Grazie!

Vincenzo

Look through the other projects here, you will find helpful posts.

Collecting dust from a miter saw is a challenge.  They throw dust in a lot of directions, and even users with GIANT dust collectors find them to be a challenge.

Also, the 750-watt motor on the dust collector is also a challenge.  We'd prefer to see a little larger motor and impeller.  I don't think that unit will be large enough to support a pre-separator, and it may be difficult to install a baffle into that unit.  Hard to tell without seeing some pictures.
