Title: Harbor Freight DC Baffle
Post by: blackcat54 on October 27, 2009, 03:43:47 PM
I noticed the HFDC Seperator Section is not perfectly round.

I see two approaches to sizing the Thien Seperator Plate.

1) Trace the inner diameter of the HF Seperator on to the material to be cut.

2) Use a compass to draw a perfect circle in the material to be cut.

Since the HF Seperator is not a perfect circle, the diameter will have to be averaged for the compass setting.

I'm not sure which direction to take.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

dlipter

I'd trace it and then find the center of what you've traced.  Use that center point w/ a compass to draw the reduced section.

How out of round is yours? Mine was less than 1/4" variation measured accross 8 data points... Just wondering, If it is a small amount of variation, just build your baffle and install it. a small gap is pretty much to be expected,
