Title: Help Please, my new seperator is not working

Finally finished my trash can seperator lid set up with 2 1/2" hoses to a Sears shop vac. I have good air pressure, no leaks but  many shavings seem to stay on top of the seperator and MANY get into the shop vac. Here is the set up...any suggestions are welcome. Previously I had asked about where to purchase 2 or 2.5" fittings and someone replied to use PVC...so that's what I have

I am not Phil but it could be that the way the fitting seems to direct the chips at the baffle and not in a circular motion this could cause the chips to impact the baffle and not be directed gently in a cicular motion like an elbow fitting would do. Just my two cents.

Right, you need a 90-degree fitting, not a 45-degree fitting.

That pic almost looks like a 30* attached to another 30* or 45. Definitely needs to be 90, or come in from the side.
